These Are The Top 5 Cheapest U.S. Destinations You Can Fly To Right Now

There’s no arguing that travel and accommodation are the two biggest expenses for those looking to explore someplace new this spring, and the former can get even more expensive for those planning to fly to their destination of choice.
That’s why travelers (us included) are always on the lookout for places where plane tickets don’t exceed the $200 mark, and, as luck would have it, there are plenty of gorgeous destinations right here in the U.S. that fit the bill.
Yahoo Finance just recently released a report on the cheapest airports you can fly to domestically, and these were the five places that topped the list.
5. Hilo, Hawaii
Those eager to soak in that Hawaiian sun this spring will be happy to learn that the fifth spot on today’s list is held by none other than one of the 50th state’s dreamiest destinations.
With average plane ticket prices hovering around $189, travelers will get to finally enjoy the so-highly-talked-about sights of Hilo without having to spend an arm and a leg on transportation alone.
While the region is notorious for some higher-end stays and experiences, exploring the breathtaking views of the active volcanoes and lush rainforests is totally doable on a budget, especially when airfare is this low.
If you look beyond the lavish all-inclusive hotels, you’ll find that there are plenty of great little houses for rent at just around $100 a night – and they’re pretty close to the beach, too!
4. Atlantic City, New Jersey
Atlantic City is mostly known as a gambling hub, but whether you’re here to try out your luck in one of the world-famous casinos or just take in the local sights and nightlife, at least now you can save some money on travel expenses.
The average plane ticket to New Jersey’s liveliest hotspot is currently $176, but those traveling from Florida or North Carolina can find airfare in the $60 range, so if there’s one time to finally take that big group trip you’ve been thinking about, it’s right now!
3. Punta Gorda, Florida
From this point forward, you’ll notice an interesting theme – all three places that occupy the top spots on the list are located in the Sunshine State, and with so many people rediscovering Florida’s charm and gorgeous sights this past year, these record-low plane tickets are sure to come in handy to millions of travelers.
Punta Gorda, in particular, is an underrated gem located just a couple of minutes away from some of the most jaw-dropping beaches you’ll find on the Gulf Coast.
As we speak, a plane ticket to the city will set you back, on average, $159, though some carriers are offering flights priced as low as $90 or $100.
2. St. Pete-Clearwater, Florida
The second Floridian entry on today’s list is the St. Pete-Clearwater airport, which allows travelers to explore some of the state’s most coveted destinations.
After all, West Florida is one of the best regions you can visit for a low-key, family-friendly getaway that’ll leave you feeling refreshed and relaxed.
Here, you can take in the views of the white sandy beaches that stretch along the Gulf Coast, enjoy the surprisingly vibrant arts scene, eat at one of the many nation-renowned restaurants in the area, and hike across the iconic Brooker Creek Preserve.

Located just outside the bustling city, the Orlando-Sanford International Airport takes the cake as the cheapest domestic airport to fly to this spring – that’s some of the best news theme park lovers can get right now!
While the world-class parks that attract millions of travelers to Orlando are obviously must-sees (Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, in particular), there’s a lot more to love about the city beyond its thrilling rides.
